All or almost all of the poker players that are in this world, play to win. There are some added bonuses that come on the side; yet winning is the main goal. When playing a game like poker, where part of it is luck, it is important to be able to control the part of skill that is involved. In order to do this, you must understand the basic concept of how to play, and this is especially true in a game like Pai Gow. When you begin playing online, you will notice that the dealer and you will both have seven cards. Both you and the dealer will try to arrange your seven cards in the best possible manner according to the rules. You must attempt to make both of your hands beat the dealer's two hands, and depending on this outcome determines how much money you will win or lose. On the other hand, if both of your hands beat the dealer's two hands then you win your bets. In between these two situations is the event if you and the dealer each win one hand. If this occurs then it is a push, and your bet is neither won nor lost.

This is one of the elements that I really like about the game, because it is something that you are able to enjoy for a long period of time. You usually won't find yourself investing a large amount of money consecutively, and it is a very relaxing experience. The downside of this is that you don't have the opportunity to win a lot of money at this game, unless you play for awhile. This is true because if you push then you aren't winning anything, so you are minimizing your chances to increase your bank roll. There is actually such a high chance of you not losing your money that casino will charge a commission of 5% for every hand that you win. This just shows you how Pai Gow isn't just another game of one-sided luck that the house has an advantage over.

If you are not sure how to play, you can always ask the dealer and they will be happy to tell you the rules. There is also a very nice feature that you have and that is the dealer will help you arrange your cards appropriately if you ask. There are no rules with having the dealer help you out on how to play. Along with casinos providing you this feature, online games also give you the option to arrange your cards for you. It will usually say something like “house way”, or “ask dealer.” This will then arrange the cards as if you are the dealer, which is the way you want to arrange your cards the majority of the time.


Winning at Pai Gow is not as difficult as it seems at first. As long as you know the certain options and rules that you are entitled to, then you can capitalize on them. From experience, Pai Gow is on of the most winning games of poker that you play; however, as you can see it is not the same exciting environment that comes with poker games such as Holdem.
