Caribbean Poker

Jun 19, 01:51 PM

This variation of poker is very different then most other versions because instead of placing bets against other players, you bet against the “bank”. Caribbean poker is mostly played in American casinos, and it is not often seen at home games or on the online rooms. It is a very unique and interesting variation of the game of poker, and hopefully these rules will educated you enough so you can play at the casinos.

Getting Started
Both you and the bank receive 5 cards and you must ante before every hand.

After you have seen your hand, and one of the banks cards, you are allowed to either call bet, which makes you double your ante, or fold (surrender). If you decide to surrender then the bank wins your ante, and any further bets that you have placed.

If you decided to make a call bet then game play continues between you and the bank. If the bank does not have A-K or better then your bet will be placed back to you and you will win the banks ante.

If the bank does have A-K or better then you must have a better hand then he/she does or else you will lose the pot. If you do have a better hand then the dealers A-k or better, then you are entitled to the following payouts on your call bets, and even money on your ante.

The payouts are as listed:
You will receive even money for a high card or some sort of pair that beats the banks A-K or better.

You will receive 2-1 on any two pair that beats the banks A-K or better.

You will receive 3-1 for any three of a kind that beats the banks A-K or better.

You will receive 4-1 on any straight that beats the banks A-K or better.

You will receive 5-1 on any flush that beats the banks A-K or better.

You will receive 7-1 on any full house that beats the banks A-K or better.

You will receive 20-1 on any four of a kind that beats the banks A-K or better.

You will receive 50-1 on any straight flush that beast the banks A-K or better.

You will receive 100-1 on any royal flush that beats the banks A-K or better.

If the bank has A-K or better and your hand does not beat him, then you lose your ante and any call bets that you had.
