The Knuckle Roll

Sep 5, 12:56 PM

The knuckle roll is a very good looking chip trick that can be done in a number of different styles. You can add your own personal touch my doing two hands at once, more then one chip on a knuckle, or by jumping the chips between hands, however; this article will focus on just instructing you on how to do the basic knuckle roll chip trick. The key to the knuckle roll chip trick is timing and, like all the others, hand-eye coordination. You will only need one chip to do this.

Performing the Knuckle Roll

  • 1 – The first thing that you must do is place the chip so that it is held between your thumb, and the inside of your index finger. The chip should be at a slight angle point down wards.

  • 2 – Next, you need to push the chip with your thumb along the top of your index finger so that it is lying flat on your index finger.

  • 3 – Now let the chip slide into the space between your index and middle finger (watch out, don't let it slip too much) and hold the chip between your index and middle finger. The chip should be facing straight up.

  • 4 – Now, release the chip slightly and let it roll onto your middle finger, so it is again flat on the middle finger.

  • 5 – Do the same motion you did in step three, and let the chip slide into the space between your middle and four finger, and then hold the chip with the two fingers with the chip point up.

  • 6 – Let the chip roll onto your fourth finger and into the space between your four finger, and pinky, but make sure to get a good grasp on the chip with your pinky.

  • 7 – With the chip being help with your pinky, slip the chip under your pinky and grab it with your thumb. The chip should be under your palm.

  • 8 – Repeat the steps 1-7.

As a Note
Remember, the knuckle roll is all about timing and fluidity. Try to keep your fingers and straight and possible, and keep practicing. I still grab a chip and practice it almost everyday, because you can always build onto this trick. Get the timing right and it should look great.
