Pokerroom.com Room Review

Apr 1, 07:08 AM

Pokerroom.com

Being one of the more popular online poker rooms, we at winatpoker.com decided that we had to experience this room for ourselves and see what all the praise was about. During an allotted period of play, our reviewer went through and played real money and play money on all the games that pokerroom.com had to offer. We tried to observe each aspect of the room and hopefully these details will stand out to you in the review. This review will go through the basic features of the room, both negative and positive, and hopefully give you an idea of if you would be interested in playing at this site. Enjoy the review, and if you have any further questions feel free to contact our staff.

The sign-up process: I found this task to be very quick and rather painless. You just go to www.pokerroom.com and go to the part of the site where it says “sign up.” During the process you are required to give an email (make sure it is valid because they send you a activation code that you need), password, username, and a promotional code if you have obtained one (optional, I didn’t use this). After completing these fields, they then tell you to check your email for your activation code which is sent almost instantly. Just put this code into the correct area of the web site and you have just signed up.

If you are interested in playing for real money, you will need to fill out more fields that request your name, address, bank account, ect. Yet, if you just want to play for fake money then you are free to continue on and download the actual poker client.

Client and Download process: I use DSL as my Internet connection and the download time was very quick for the poker client. The install was also relatively quick and easy, and within about 15 minutes of first going and signing up I was playing poker on the site.

Once you are in the client, there are 4 different games you can play; texas holdem, Omaha, 7 card stud, and a private table. You can play for real or play money in each game, and there are a variety of rooms that are open for each type of game, limit, and stakes. I found the client to be very quick in loading, and there were a lot of people playing but enough rooms that you never had to wait for a seat. Also, the program wasn’t cluttered with unnecessary options or tools, and ever aspect of the game was easy to see.

Playing for Fake Money: Almost every poker client has this option, but what sets this site apart from a lot of others is the amount of rooms and stakes types (no limit, limit, pot limit) that they have dedicated to play money. These play money games are fun, but in my opinion you will not become a better player from it. To many players don’t play how they would in a real money game, since nothing is at stake in the games. This leads to my next issue of the real money play.

Playing for Real Money: This part of the client was very well done in the fact that your money deposits are dealt with in a very secure and controlled way. When you first sign up for real money under this client, you will receive a sign up bonus of 20% of your deposited money up to $100. It’s always nice to make money through these bonuses, and this one is one of the better ones offered by online poker rooms.

The other great thing that I found to be an important part of this poker room was the tournaments that they are constantly offering for real money. If tournaments are something you are interested in when playing poker, then check out this room and see if you are able to find one that suits your needs. Overall, I would say that the real money play in this room is very well run and it was a very enjoyable experience playing it.

Something Different: Every online poker room is comprised of basic essentials that are common throughout every client, however; it is through these reviews that I hope to point out to you some unique features of the reviewed poker rooms that really adds to the play. After reviewing pokerroom.com, I came to the conclusion that their website is one of the better ones that I have seen for a poker room. It includes videos, constant updates and news of the poker client, and an online poker school. It is these things that can really help with your game, since the more knowledge you know about the game, the better your potential of playing is.

Last thoughts and comments: After finishing my period of play, I was surprised to notice that I had not once had to restart the client because of any annoying delays or breaks in the server. I was able to sit down and play the game of poker of my choice, with the stakes of my choice, all without leaving my house. If you are really into poker, and online play, then you should find this site to be very beneficial to your game and hopefully your wallet. Also, if you’re a beginner or just want to start playing for fun, I would check out this room since they have videos, schools, and large amount of play money games for you to play on. I highly recommend that you check this site and poker client out, and I hope it brings you nothing but joy. Thank you and feel free to read our other poker room reviews if you feel that this one isn’t for you, and if you like this one, you should also probably read some more reviews because there are a lot more poker rooms out there that are fun to play on and provide a great experience.
