Party Poker Room Review

Feb 13, 09:54 AM

Party Poker

When I heard that I was going to have to review Party Poker, I immediately became excited since I have heard so much about it. I had never played in it before this, and let me just say that the time I spent playing wasn’t wasted as it seems to be in other rooms. With all the positive praise that I will being give this room throughout this review it is hard to remember that nothing isn’t ever perfect, just as this room isn’t perfect. The poker client has some minor faults, and the website is not the best design, but it certainly gets the job done. Also, I would recommend that you don’t only try this room if you find it to be something you like, since there are tons of clients out there and you could possibly find one that you like better. Lets start the reviewing!

Usually I follow a guideline when writing these reviews, however for this one I felt that was unnecessary since I would just rave on and on at how good the different aspects of the poker client was. Instead, I am just going to describe and point out some of the very unique and beneficial qualities and some of the features that I didn’t find useful.

When you sign up for the client, the download process and sign up process is very easy and self explanatory. I had no issues in the download, sign up, or installation of the program and I was playing within 15 minutes of going on the website. Once in the client, I noticed that it wasn’t has decorative or flashy as some of the other poker rooms. I was a little disappointed at first, but after I saw how fast all the rooms loaded and how many different games, rooms, and players there were I forgot all about the design. Once playing inside a room, I noticed that you were able to classify players (by right clicking on them) and I found this to be useful if you are planning on playing with the same group for a period of time. I felt that the room had some nice features that really made game play easy, and not once did I have to worry about my connection being lost, or the games having delay.

One of the best features that I found in this poker application was the buddy list and invite options. I had some friends who were playing on the same client, but it would have been so hard to coordinate what tables to play if I hadn’t had the ability to search for a person or table, or put a buddy into my buddy list. Allow this feature seems to be small, I found it to be one that I wish I saw in a lot more poker rooms. It is so nice to be able to play with someone again after meeting them by just using your buddy list to see what table they are playing on. The other nice feature that went along with the buddy list was the invitation feature. I have not yet seen this option on any other table and it proved to be helpful when I wanted to play with some friends of mine and I found a great table that all of us could play on. All I had to do was find my friends name in my buddy list and then invite them to the room. There was a conflict in this however; occasionally the invite would send and the person would click “join” but it would not work. This is something wrong with the client and I have not found a solution to it yet, but it does not always occur.

Another issue that I found in this poker client was the private table option. Every time I tried to start a private table it would give me a “try again” message. I am not sure if this was just because the network was busy, or if there was an issue with my computer, but it did not work for me. Besides those few problems that I encountered when reviewing this client, I found it to be very easy, quick, simple, and beneficial to my game play. I would recommend this room to mostly real money players since there are many tournaments and promotions to play with, but if you are interested in playing for play money only I would also check this client out. Good luck to everyone and enjoy the game of poker.
