As a reviewer, there are very few times when you think that something is mediocre. Either you feel that the room is excellent or you feel that it lacked the beneficial features so it was horrible. Up until this poker room, I hadn’t found one that was just mediocre, however, this one certainly is. By saying this, I do not mean that it is bad and you should stay away from it, I just simply mean that it is just a basic, average room. Since there weren’t a lot of unique features to it, I felt that I should really just describe the room in this review to give you sort of a feel for what it was like.


When you go to the website to download the client you will notice that it is very clean cut, and there are some nice features such as the poker tutorial, however it is nothing outstanding. One of the better things about the site that could be thought annoying is the option to download the client immediately as you go on the site. There is a message box that asks you this, and if you decline then you have the option of playing without the downloaded version. Once you have downloaded the application that is needed to download the client you don’t need the site anymore. The download took about the same time as all the other clients, and the install was just as easy as all the others. As soon as you have the poker client installed and you open it, it will give you the option to play for “demo” or “real” money. This is where the pacific poker is just average, in the fact that there are no real great features about the rooms but there aren’t any negative ones either. After you choose what money you will play with, they ask you to log in where you can select to create an account. This process is very easy and quick.


If you decided to play on this poker client for real money, then you are given a sign up bonus of up to $100 (it depends on how much you deposit). Again, this is a nice feature, however it is relatively standard for most of the poker clients. The real money play on this is very nice because the rooms are easy to get into and there are a lot of players but also a lot of open rooms. I found the real money play to be enjoyable, but again there wasn’t anything that really caught my eye.


If you decide that you don’t want to play for real money yet, or at all, then you have the option of playing for demo money. This is very similar to most of the other poker clients out there and I did not come across any real problems with playing it. The only thing that I found to be different about this room is that there weren’t as many players playing for fake money. Usually I see many play money players and large amounts of rooms, yet on this client I didn’t see as many. This could have been due to the time period in which I played at though since the time was at late hours of the day. In my opinion, if you are only looking to play for play money I would not choose this client. There are not as many features, nor players as in some of the other poker rooms. There are a lot of game variations though, so if you like to play other games then holdem, such as stud games, then I would consider looking into this room. Overall, like most of the other aspects of this room, the play money was basic and nice, but not excellent.


After my playing period was up for this room, I was indecisive in whether I wanted to write the review right then or really analyze the room first. I am glad that I took a little time to analyze, or else I probably wouldn’t have rated this room as high as I did. I really had to look back and realize that this room had nothing wrong with it; it just didn’t have anything premier about it either. The room is very easy to use, and fun to play in, and if you are only an occasional cash poker player who just wants something that is clean cut then I would recommend this room. This room is definitely more oriented towards cash players and I liked the fact that it wasn’t just focused on texas holdem. Just check it out if you are interested, and enjoy playing poker on it, I promise that you won’t waste anytime just experimenting with this room.
