HoldemPartner Review

May 1, 11:21 AM

When I started reviewing this poker companion software, I wasn’t really sure what to expect since I hadn’t had much experience in poker software in the past. I was pleasantly surprised to find how useful and easy this software was, and hopefully you will see why in this review.

From the beginning to the end, this Holdem companion was quick and easy, and it was nice to see a website with that much information on it. In order to purchase the software, you need to go to HoldemPartner.com, and on the homepage you will see a section for products. Just click there, and you will be directed to a page giving you clear instructions on how to download the software, and it even gives Holdem Partnerscreenshots of the product. If this wasn’t enough, it offers a demo version before you purchase the actual version, yet there is no difference in features you just have a time evaluation. After your time has expired, it is very simple to buy the product and activate it.

Once you have downloaded the program, and you are ready to use it and the only other thing that you need is an online poker room. The software is built so you are able to quickly input you two face down cards, and then the community cards as they come in the online poker game. You first input you two face down cards and it gives you advice based on your hand strength, and it gives you hand ranking and odds. It then asks you to input the flop, in which is gives you updated advice and odds. It does the same thing for fourth and Fifth Street as you input them.

Usually, in these poker companions, they give you very generic recommendations that really don’t help you that much to understand the game. This software however, gives you detailed advice that is not always recommending one move. An example of this is if you have a hand like J 10 suited preflop, in which the software tells you, “that it might be a good time to mix up you play and raise if you have been playing tight all game”. I found all of the advice that it gives to be reasonable and helpful, and although sometimes you don’t always feel you should follow it, the software has a way of being right most of the time.

Along with the recommendations, the companion also gives you the odds and hand rankings, both of which are incredibly useful. For beginners these stats won’t be used as much, but for the more advance player they come in handy when you are playing against some unorthodox raisers. I found the hand Holdem Partnerstrength stat to be pretty unique, and as of yet I haven’t seen it in any other software, however, there are still more to come. Furthermore, the odds are updated according to the number of players at the table, and this is incredibly important since there are other software that bases the odds on 10 players no matter the number you are playing with.

The last, and probably most important aspect of this poker companion, is the interface for inputting your 2 face down cards and community cards. At first, it seems to take a little too long for you to put your hand in the program; however, after 10 minutes of playing with the companion you are able to do it very quickly. It is easy to distinguish between suits and card rank, and there is a nice feature of having a back and clear button in case you made a mistake or the hand is over. Overall, I found the software to be very easy to use and dictate your hand to.

After reading this review, I hope that you see why I feel so strongly that this companion being one of the best poker companion software out there. It is simple to use, yet it doesn’t lack any of the necessary features that makes good poker software. It works for any poker room that you play with, and the screen isn’t too cluttered with the poker room and the poker companion both being run. I completely recommend this poker partner to any online poker enthusiast out there, and I am sure that both the beginner and advance player will find this software to be great.
